SSU Comes For Scandal Known Luka

The metropolitan of the UOC-MP is being searched.

Employees of the Security Service of Ukraine have come with searches to another metropolitan of the UOC of the Moscow patriarchate.

We are talking about Zaporizhzhia Metropolitan Luka (Andrey Kovalenko).

This is reported by RBC-Ukraine citing sources in law enforcement agencies.

As noted by sources, the SSU came to the metropolitan of the UOC MP of Zaporizhzhia and Melitopol Luka on 1 May. Investigative actions are taking place in Zaporizhzhia.

The SSU will inform about the results of searches later.

As noted in the network, Metropolitan Luka may be suspected of denying the Russian war against Ukraine, as well as spreading propaganda of the Russian Federation. In particular, in 2021, he spread a fake about ‘biological weapons’, which allegedly the Americans are testing in Ukraine.

He also justified Russian strikes on Ukraine and claimed that the scale of oppression of the church under Stalin-Khrushchev was negligible compared to what is happening now in Ukraine.

In 2022, Metropolitan Luka (Andrey Kovalenko) was subjected to five-year sanctions in Ukraine.
