The political prisoner is being held in the Babruisk penal colony.

Belsat has reported with a reference to its sources that the administration of colony #2 of Babruisk initiated a new criminal case against political prisoner Eduard Babaryka. This time he was accused of violating Article 411 of the Criminal Code (“malicious disobedience to the requirements of the administration of a correctional institution executing a sentence of imprisonment”). He faces another year in prison.

Eduard Babaryka is serving his sentence in the penal colony #2 in Babruisk, he was sentenced to 8 years in prison. Taking into account the time in the pre-trial detention center, Eduard Babaryka is to spend about 4.5 years behind bars. If he is found guilty under Article 411 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Belarus, the total term of his imprisonment will increase by one year.

Back on July 18, 2020, Eduard Babaryka was detained together with his father, Viktar Babaryka, when they were heading to the Central Election Commission to hand over the collected signatures to register Viktar Babaryka as a candidate for the post of President of Belarus. Eduard was charged under three criminal articles. The court sentenced him to 8 years of imprisonment.
